Stuart H. McCormick, AIA, joined LAMBERT Architecture + Interiors in 1994 as a Project Manager and Architect. With over 36 years’ experience, he now serves as President and Director of Design. His design approach is contextual with an individualized solution for each design challenge appropriate to the client’s vision, budget and schedule. He has overseen the design direction of LAMBERT for over 25 years and his projects have included a wide variety of higher education, institutional, public assembly, meeting and training facilities.
Stuart has led the design of both new buildings as well as restoration and rehabilitation of historic structures at Wake Forest University, Duke University, Davidson College and Salem College, the oldest higher education institution for women in America. Many projects, including Wake Forest University’s Welcome Center, have been awarded regionally and nationally for excellence in educational design and LEED Certified Buildings.
Mr. McCormick served as President of AIA Winston-Salem as well as on the Forsyth County Historic Resources Commission for 10 years and as Chair of the Commission for 2 years during his tenure. He is also an active member of the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership Planning Committee and the Chamber of Commerce.
Stuart is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in design and a master’s degree in architecture.
