Stephen J. Kelley, FAIA, SE, FAPT specializes in the investigation and restoration of historic buildings. He has extensive experience in skyscrapers, churches, façade restoration, masonry, and windows. He has expertise in the analysis and conservation of historic building materials and systems including iron and steel, wood, plasters, and stained glass. Professor Kelley is an internationally recognized preservation consultant with projects in the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Kelley is a Fellow in the AIA due to his pioneering work in historic preservation. He has served on the Board of Directors of both US/ICOMOS and APT and was elected to Fellowship in both organizations. He has lectured extensively and has written numerous articles in journals and edited books on technical preservation. He is former President of the International Scientific Committee on the Analysis and Restoration of Structures of Architectural Heritage (ISCARSAH). Kelley is an adjunct Professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Preservation and Planning in New York and developed a course on Building Diagnostics.
