Born out of a passion for craft and handwork, Brent Hull started building furniture in his basement while studying historic preservation at the prestigious North Bennet Street School in Boston. He graduated with a degree in Preservation Carpentry and moved back to Fort Worth, Texas in 1993 to start his new business, Hull Millwork.

Brent’s first years were spent as a new business owner working out of his brother’s garage in the historic Berkley neighborhood of Fort Worth, TX. This 2-car garage was so small that Brent had to slide the doors open just to plane wood.

Hull Millwork moved into today’s shop and office in 1995. Built in 1921, the building was originally a distribution center for the National Biscuit Company (NABISCO) and then housed a manufacturer of draperies. It has been the perfect place for a historic restoration company to call home.

In 2007, Hull Millwork was chosen as the exclusive licensee for millwork by the Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, Delaware. Winterthur Museum Garden & Library houses one of the most important collections of Americana in the United States. It was the former home of Henry Francis du Pont, a renowned antiques collector and horticulturist. The architectural interiors of Winterthur serve as a fountain of inspiration for much of Brent’s work.
